Apono Raises $34M Series B to Redefine Privileged Access for the Agentic Era
Vertex Holdings18 Nov 2025NEW YORK – November 18, 2025
– Apono, the cloud identity-security company pioneering Zero Standing Privilege (ZSP) access management, has raised $34 million in a Series B round led by U.S. Venture Partners (USVP), with participation from Swisscom Ventures, Vertex Ventures, 33N Ventures, and existing investors. This brings total funding to more than $54 million. Over the past year, the company achieved strong product-market fit with a fourfold increase in customers.
Apono’s platform addresses the rising complexity of cloud permissions by eliminating standing privileges. Built on Just-in-Time (JIT) and Just-Enough-Access (JEA) models, it grants and revokes access dynamically based on real-time context and business logic. The goal: enabling speed without compromising security.
The company is preparing for a future where human and AI identities work side by side. As agentic systems grow in use, managing their access requires automation and context awareness that traditional IAM models cannot deliver. Apono’s dynamic permissioning engine validates each access request in real time to maintain both security and developer efficiency.
Quote from Rom Carmel, Co-founder and CEO of Apono
“The large-scale adoption of AI agents exponentially scales the problem of getting access right. Achieving ZSP with a dynamic access management approach is the only sustainable way to secure agentic operations at scale.”
Apono serves customers such as Intel, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Monday.com, helping secure access across hybrid and multi-cloud environments while supporting compliance and accelerating incident response.
Board Update
Jacques Benkoski
, General Partner at USVP, will join Apono’s board. He brings extensive enterprise software and cybersecurity experience, including work with Trusteer, Medigate, and Kenna Security.
Quote from Jacques Benkoski, USVP
“Apono is leading the next evolution of identity security. The company’s dynamic, context-aware approach is exactly what enterprises need to secure both human and machine identities in the AI-driven era.”
Use of Funds
The new capital will support development of AI-powered access intelligence, policy automation, expansion of go-to-market efforts in the U.S. and new international markets, and scaling of engineering and sales teams.
Apono will showcase its platform at AWS re:Invent, December 1–5, 2025, in Las Vegas.
